Briar Rose Winery, A freesh look at the Boutique Wines

It has taken years and years but finally the roots of California's wine history are being rediscovered. Yes, wine was grown in California long before Sonoma County and Nappa were discovered and it was done very well. It really began much south of that with the old monasteries. One of those was right in the Temecula Valley It was this area just east of San Diego and Los Angeles that can be truly the birth place of California's wines. It is here were you will find the Briar Rose Winery.

Since the 1960' and 1970's this area has started to be rediscovered by many wineries wanting to fashion themselves into the landscape by producing quantity over quality. The Brair Rose Winery has never tried to do that and as a result has countless number of awards for the wines they have produced. Some things are just best done right. This is reflected in the winery itself as it is a replication of the Snow White cottage

This is why the winery is considered a boutique winery. One of the few places you will find that you can taste the wines are at their tasting room where the sommelier can help you learn the distinct flavor whether you are a connoisseur or a laymen. They even produce a batch for those that like their wine to bubble a bit.

Beyond a gentle walk through the vineyard itself on of the required stops must be the wine shop. There you will find what ever fits your taste or budget. They produce wines that cost the same as a CD and the produce wines that cost as much as a car payment. It really depends on what you are looking for.

You can not honestly say you have toured the Temecula Valley unless you have made a stop at the Briar Rose Winery.
